  Best Family Trip Ever
  These guys are organized down to the last detail, plus they make it seem easy. I've done the South Fork American trip twice now. In my experience, the customers self-select, so the teamwork is part of the fun.
  This is the perfect, memorable family trip. We had a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old and their dads in our boat; part of the fun was watching their bonds and the kids' joy. Years ago I went with my college-age daughter. The other customers were adventure tourists from Scandinavia and England.
  Just enough danger to be interesting.
  The guides are like Cool Hand Luke. They know flora, fauna, history, geology and more. They know how to deal with difficult passengers -- we had none, but they've had a few -- and organize the boats so everyone can operate at capacity without being overwhelmed. Our guide never, ever took his eye off the youngsters.
  The lunches are exquisitely set up and time. First-rate showers, etc. when you get off the river.
  They've learned to keep it simple.
  The joy was not confined to the kids. I went with another Escaping Mom. She said it was the most fun she's had in years.
